These 9 Favorite Vegan Sauces give you the power to take some plain old veggies, a bowl or a salad from a little boring to delicious & magical. I’m saucy. A great sauce can make almost anything great. Keep these sauces in mind if somebody dares you to eat something gross—you’re welcome.
These 9 Favorite Vegan Sauces are in no particular order. They are all favorites.
1. Vegan Garlic Alfredo Sauce

This low-ingredient Vegan Garlic Alfredo Sauce is creamy, rich, and game-changing. The best part is that you don’t get that weighed-down feeling you might remember from a traditional dairy-based Alfredo.
This Alfredo blows my mind, you should make it.
I can say with complete certainty that I am not the only person who has stood in the kitchen eating spoonfuls of just this sauce. It’s great to have friends in this world, especially ones who will share info like this with you. This sauce is easily one of my favorite things.
If you are gluten-free try it with lentil or chickpea pasta.
2. Cilantro Pumpkin Seed Pesto

This Cilantro Pumpkin Seed Pesto is a low-oil version of the True Food Kitchen pesto used in their Ancient Grains Bowl. I especially love it with:
- Vegan Marinated Meal-Prep Kebobs (oven or grill)
- Pasta or pasta salad
- Easy Oven-Roasted Marinated Savory Portobello Mushrooms
3. I Can’t Believe It’s Low Oil Hummus

This amazing hummus will add protein and wow to your bowls. Once you realize how rich & creamy hummus can be with barely any oil you may not be able to buy store-bought hummus again. Sorry/not sorry.
Is hummus a sauce? It can be! I love adding a little extra aquafaba to thin this and enjoying it as a sauce in bowls.

4. Rich Creamy Vegan Ranch Dressing

It doesn’t get more midwest than a tasty ranch. This stuff is full-flavor while being refined-oil free! I dip everything in this.
5. Crazy Good No-Peanut Sauce

This Crazy Good No-peanut sauce has all the pizazz. Instead of peanut butter, we make this with almond butter. It’s easy, savory, and versatile. Great with:
- Cold Soba Noodle Bowls
- Roasted veg
- Salads
- Spring Rolls with Oven-Baked Sriracha Tofu
- Plain raw veggies, as a dip
6. Oil-Free Creamy Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing

This Creamy Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing is rich, zesty, and dreamy. Did I mention that it’s super easy? You simply stir it together in a jar or mug. No blender, no food processor. Spelling Caesar makes my brain hurt. Spelling Caesar is tricky, but making this glorious Caesar dressing is simple. This dressing is fantastic with:
- Kale Ribbons Caesar Salad with Garlic Shake and Croutons or dry pan-roasted chickpeas
- Romaine lettuce salad with Garlic Shake and Oven-Baked Tofu or Addictive Coconut Bacon Flakes
- Great for dipping veggies and bread
- Veggie wraps

7. Mom’s Spaghetti Sauce (Red Gravy)

I love when this sauce is cooking and it fills the air with intoxicating, hunger-making smells. This recipe is simple, low-ingredient and tastes like home.
Leave the gun – take the cannoli. Drink the sauce.
I use this sauce when I make No-Boil Vegan Ricotta Stuffed Pasta Shells In Red Sauce.
8. Easy Vegan Nacho Cheese Queso

In the best way possible, this Easy Vegan Nacho Cheese Queso reminds me of nacho cheese you’d get at a gas station, the difference being this is vegan and contains no refined oil, no food coloring, and no mystery ingredients. It tastes so sinful, but it won’t give you that weighed down truck-stop-nachos feeling in your stomach. This stuff is spectacular.
9.Orange Ginger Tahini Sauce

This Orange Ginger Tahini Sauce is fresh-forward with multi-dimensional flavors. I’ve had tahini sauces that tasted bitter because tahini is kind of bitter. However, the fresh-squeezed orange juice balances out any bitterness. Sure—depending on who you eat with there might still be bitterness at your table, it just doesn’t have anything to do with this sauce.
I use this sauce in Glazed Yam & Kale Bowls with Orange-Ginger Tahini Sauce.
