Sure, you could buy vegan sour cream, but this Easy 3-ingredient Vegan Sour Cream comes with probiotic benefits. Also, it doesn’t have refined oil that you’ll sometimes find in the store-bought kinds, so it won’t leave you feeling weighed down.

When you tell people you made this yourself, they might wonder how you managed to milk all of those tiny almonds by hand and still look so put together—you don’t have to say a word. You are as gorgeous as you are resourceful.

No Blender or Food Processor

This recipe involves stirring. You could blend it, but that seems like overkill. There are a lot of vegan sour cream recipes that also use soaked cashews—you’ll want to blend this if you use cashews. I like this recipe because it’s super easy and it satisfies what I would expect from sour cream. However, I haven’t had sour cream for a very long time.

Vegan Yogurt

If you are cooking with it, I’d use Kite Hill’s Plain Unsweetened Almond Yogurt. When I made Lux Vegan Yogurt Twice-Baked Potatoes, I found that this produced the best result. Generally though, this is my preferred yogurt for making sour cream.

For the thickest Easy 3-ingredient Vegan Sour Cream, I’d go with Kite Hill’s Greek Style Plain Unsweetened Almond Milk Yogurt.

Mix together all 3 ingredients with a fork or small whisk until well combined.

Taste and adjust. Add more yogurt if you think it has too much vinegar or salt. Use more vinegar to amp up the tanginess. Add more salt if you think it needs it.

Enjoy! Store in fridge.

    I made this sour cream to go on vegan fully loaded baked yams and it was DEVINE! So easy and tasted like the real deal when eaten together with sweet potatoe, black bean chillies, and guacamole.
    Made it vegan of course.
